Being a mom can be so overwhelming. We take care of our kids, our husbands, and if we have time at the end of the day, ourselves! So how can we get rid of overwhelmed mom syndrome and feeling frazzled and worn out all the time?

My Story

I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression throughout my life, but my most recent low point was when my husband went away for work for months at a time and I was home with baby Emma. I didn’t have mom friends, I was exhausted, and I was so anxious about my hubby being away. I was the walking definition of an overwhelmed mom!

Eventually, I had to remember what I learned in therapy all those years ago – about finding support, supporting and caring for myself, and tackling those rude voices in my head. You know, that mean girl in your head who says you’ll never catch up, you’re not good enough, why even try!

Thankfully, I didn’t listen. I found some like-minded mom friends (who I still love to this day, despite living states apart!), started taking care of myself, and remembering who I was. I found myself having more energy to put into my home and parenting, and spending less time stressing. I’d developed a clear plan for my future and goals, and baby steps for how to get there. And most importantly, I was no longer an overwhelmed mom!
